I have decided to start 2026 by reviewing all the books I read in 2025. My reviews are not long and are not certainly meant to be taken with anymore seriousness than if a stranger in your second-hand bookstore where to tell you the same thing.

J. Oswald Sanders’ Spiritual Leadership is described as a “classic study of the biblical principles of godly leadership,” by the preface and it is clear to understand why. This book, (I read the updated addition that simply added context for certain references or she in addition to he), is a complete guide to what spiritual leadership looks like. With examples from both the Bible and from ministries, Sanders makes it clear what a godly leader should be like.

The book originally was adapted from two sermons in the mid-1960s, but its truth still holds today. At the end of each chapter, there are a series of questions for the reader to answer, which means you can either be self-reflective with the questions, or find a small group to discuss it with.

Overall, it is a practical read and I would recommend it fore anyone who is wishing to grow more in their spiritual leadership, as the biggest takeaway that I have, is the importance of having a relationship with God and the Holy Spirit.
