Hello there, I hate to do this on your holiday, but I need a favour and not to put any pressure on you but if you don’t do what I say, then a very nice man will die. Listen, it is not like you have to go out of your way, I just need to you to do something in particular. Fairly soon your wife is going to ask you to go buy somethings and since you are on holiday and do not have a car, you will need to use a taxi. I need you to order a particular one, when you exit the hotel, there will be a large van with a man sitting behind the wheel. You will know it is him because of his large and sincere smile. As you enter the taxi the first thing I need you to do is to go to the back where you will see a loose bolt. Please screw it back into the vacant hole. I know a single bolt does not seem crucial, but if you do not screw the bolt back in, then the compounded stress will cause the wheel to come off and you two will crash. I know this sounds ridiculous, but I’m Death, so I know what is going to happen. Once you arrive at your first destination you have exactly eight minutes to buy what you need, this will allow you to get back into the same taxi.
The next incident for you to save the driver from is a robbery. The driver is going to want to take you down Milner Street, but I need you to insist that you take Arthur Street instead. If you go down Milner Street then halfway down the road a car will suddenly swerve into the middle and force the taxi to stop. Two men will get out and you will both die as one of them, having consumed the powder that makes you die quicker, gets jittery and pulls the trigger.
So, once you go down Arthur Street you will arrive at your next destination and here I want you to spend thirty-three minutes in the store. Shopping will only take you two, but I need you to walk out exactly thirty-three minutes, because when you walk out, you will see a man yelling at the taxi driver. I need you to walk over and request his services. This is important because if you are late, then the argument will have progressed too far for the man to let the taxi driver walk away, if you are early then another taxi driver will pick you up instead and if you do not take the taxi driver away, then the argument will escalate and the man will take a screw driver and poke many holes in the poor taxi driver’s stomach.
As you travel back to the hotel, there is one last thing I need you to do, tip the man an extra one hundred dollars. I know that is a lot, but do it, it will mean that he can go home early and spend the evening with his wife rather than pick up his next client, a psychopath who would have taken out his frustrations on him. Now, you will be rewarded. While you are out doing this, Love has promised to send one of her workers to get your wife longing for your return, so if being a good human does not motivate you to save the taxi driver’s life, then perhaps returning to your wife in a good mood will.
From Death.
