Hello there, you seem excited and I know why, you and your wife about to go to the Christian Bookstore. You loved it last time and why should this be any different? Well, it will be, if you do not listen to my advice.
What is important is less about what happens at the store but leading up to it. There will be frustrations, disappointments and even some anger. Your parents spend a fair amount of money on a gift for you and your wife, and you both were keen, but due to events out of your control, you will not be able to make it. This is unfortunate, but what is worse is that they will not refund you nor reschedule. When you call, the woman who answers, who sounds like a teenager girl who cares as much about your problem as she does about the beige walls in the office she is in, will frustrate you. The situation is already frustrating, but to discover that not only can you not enjoy the gift from your parents, but they have effectively wasted their money, makes you feel both guilty and angry. Guilty, because of the loss of money and angry, because it is totally out of your control.
Why am I mentioning this, well, this event will play in your mind, and by the time you arrive at the Christian Bookstore, it will not have left you. Due to this you fail to enjoy searching through the apologetics section and are unable to be excited by the alligator story you come upon. You are so distracted that you even misplace your bag and once you do, you will dash about the store to look for it. In your rashness and distracted state of mind, you fail to fully grasp the danger of running beneath the ladder of a woman stacking books on a high bookshelf. Thanks to you, both her and the bookshelf will tumble; she will be fine, you and the shelf will not. The biblical tomes are quite heavy you know and it will be a terrible way to die.
The solution, pray. Give it God so that when you arrive at the store, you can be fully present and enjoy all there is. I would recommend that commentary on the book of Judges, I think you will like it.

P.S. Love has told me that you should pick a couple devotion to do with your wife, one that focusses on marriage.
